Bad Beat
Ongoing, 2010 (US Friendly)
Absolute Poker & UB.com Poker : Bad Beat Jackpot

The Bad Beat Jackbox runs simultaniously on both rooms hosted on the Cereus Network. Where applicable, AP stands for Absolute Poker and UB stands for UB.com Poker. The information given below applies for both rooms.

How is the Bad Beat Jackpot split?
25% rolls over to the next Bad Beat Jackpot as a head start
10% goes to the house
Of the remaining 65%:
50% goes to the Bad Beat victim
25% goes to the winner of the hand
$1000 goes to every other player at the Bad Beat table
The rest is divided among everyone playing the same game type and stakes when the Bad Beat takes place, provided they meet the requirements of qualification.

How do I qualify for the Bad Beat Jackpot?
In order to qualify as the Winner of the Bad Beat Jackpot, you must satisfy the following conditions:
You must be playing at a Jackpot or Turbo Jackpot table
A Jackpot rake must be collected in the hand you are playing
You must use both hole cards
You must lose in a hand where you have four 8's or better

Terms and Conditions
Not all tables qualify for the Bad Beat Jackpot. Texas Hold'Em Bad Beat Jackpot tables will be noted with the word "jackpot" written in brackets after the table name and will be categorized in red text in the lobby. In order to qualify for the Bad Beat Jackpot, four or more players must be dealt in the hand and a rake must be collected. The losing hand must contain four eights (8888) or better. Players sitting out at the Bad Beat Jackpot table are not eligible for the jackpot. Both hole cards must be included in the winning and losing hand. The hand must go to a showdown in order to qualify for the Bad Beat Jackpot. If there are two or more hands that qualify for the jackpot within one hand, then the two highest hands will be considered for the jackpot, with the highest hand being the winning hand (the winner) and the second highest hand winning the Bad Beat (the loser of the hand). Should two qualifying jackpot hands hit at precisely the same time, the jackpot will be awarded to the hand that began first according to the AP/UB game time. Ultimate Bet does not tolerate collusion. All players must act independently and not reveal their hands to other players, nor tell them how to act. Failure to abide by these rules will result in automatic disqualification from the Bad Beat Jackpot. The Bad Beat Jackpot collects $0.50 from the pot of each raked hand that is raked $0.25 or more. The $0.50 is then added to the rolling Bad Beat Jackpot.
*Ultimate Bet reserves the right to alter these terms and conditions at any time.

Poker Nordica : Bad Beat Jackpot

On specially made ring game jackpot tables, 50 cents is collected from every pot which contributes to the Bad Beat Jackpot. As soon as a player has a big hand cracked, the jackpot will be won, with every active player at the table receiving a portion of the prize money! The player with the losing hand will pick up the biggest percentage, so if you have four of a kind in sevens or better using both hole cards, you should definitely hope to get beaten!

Bad Beat Payout Structure:
35% to the looser
17,5% to the player with the winning hand
17,5% to the other players who had cards dealt in the round
20% to start the jackpot again
10% goes to the poker rooms on the network

Rules for a qualifying hand
Previously a hand would only qualify if both players used cards where in case of quads (4 of a kind) both hole cards needed to be a pocket pair. Fx. to make four of a kind with 9's ou needed to have pocket 9's and then two 9's on the board. This is now changed so you only need one 9 in the hole cards the other three 9's can be on the table but your other hole card need to be in play as the kicker so both you cards are making the best 5 card hand. Here is an example of a valid badbeat: The board is JJJTT, a player is holding QJ would quilify vs. a player with TT, since the Q is the kicker in play. Here is an example of an invalid badbeat: The board is JJJTT, a player is holding J7 would not qualify vs. a player with TT since the 7 is not in play as the kicker since the T on the table is higher.

Terms & Conditions:
The losing hand must be at least a Four of a Kind 7's The winning hand must be at least a Four of a Kind 8's Both the winning and losing hands must include both hole cards At least four players must be dealt in at the start of the hand The hand must have generated jackpot rake (ie. $0.50) Two or more players must be active at the end of the hand, and it must go to showdown Poker Nordica does not tolerate collusion. All players must act independently and not reveal their hands to other players, nor tell them how to act. Failure to adhere to this requirement will result in automatic disqualification from the Bad Beat Jackpot. Players sitting out at the Bad Beat Jackpot tables are not eligible for the Bad Beat Jackpot Should two qualifying jackpot hands hit at precisely the same time, the jackpot will be awarded to the hand that began first according to Poker Nordica's server time. The second of the qualifying bad beat hands would be eligible for the reseeded Bad Beat Jackpot. If there are two or more hands that qualify for the jackpot within one hand, then the two highest hands will be considered for the jackpot, with the highest hand being the winning hand and the second highest hand winning the bad beat.
